For the man who has worn many hats as of late, what?s one more? The New York Post reports that James Franco, seen here arriving at The Late Show last night, will teach a graduate course on directing at NYU?s Tisch School of the Arts. Following in the footsteps of Winter?s Bone director Debra Granik and Zoolander co-screenwriter John Hamburg, Franco will be able to share with 12 students enrolled in the three-year program the opportunity to work with the guy who?s done it all?so far. ?He?s here to teach because he really knows something about directing that he can share with our students,? says John Tintori, chair of the graduate film program.

Do you think NYU made a smart decision to hire Franco as a professor? Annual tuition is $46,500 for the graduate program, so it will be interesting to see the reaction from students who enroll in his class. First order of business-asking Professor Franco why he was carrying around a Zack Morris cell phone in his pocket yesterday in the city. Then they can move forward with relevant course material.
