Hayden Panettiere and Mark Sanchez are swearing they are nothing more than just friends.There's no off-field scoring for Hayden Panettiere and New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez ? at least not together.
A recent sighting that sparked romance rumors was nothing more than two pals grabbing a bite to eat, both sides are insisting.
"I swear I'm not dating him at all. Honestly," Panettiere told Us Weekly. "I'm a huge Jets fan and became very good friends with him and his buddies."
"There's genuinely, absolutely nothing going on," she stressed before explaining, "I've always been that girl who has a lot of dude friends. I'm into sports, so we have a lot in common, but no, definitely 100 percent not dating."
The actress, 21, and the footballer, 24, were photographed at a Laguna Hills, Calif. In-N-Out Burger on Monday with two other friends.
"They seemed very close and very happy," a witness told RumorFix.com. "When they walked out of the fast-food restaurant, Mark was flashing a huge smile."

"Every person that I stand next to in this industry is a guy I'm going to be linked to. That's just inevitably the way it goes," Panettiere conceded to Us. "When it's a long-term friendship like that, sometimes it starts getting a little bit frustrating for certain people. You don't want to put fuel into the fire, but you don't want to stop living your life and doing what you want to do."
The "Scream 4" star, who split from boxer Wladimir Klitschko in mid-May after more than a year of dating, rejected the theory that she's just trying to keep her new relationship under wraps.
"It's too much energy most of the time to keep it hidden. So when I say we're just friends, I mean it!" she said. "Time will tell if I'm lying, but I'm 100 percent not! He's a great dude and he's a great football player, and he's a Jet player, which I love."
Still not convinced there's no, um, benefits to their friendship?
"No, I am not dating Hayden," Sanchez told TMZ.com paparazzi in a brief on-camera exchange. "I promise."
"You guys will figure it out soon enough," he added, alluding to a mysterious ? and still unknown ? reason why they were bonding over burgers.
"But I promise you, I promise you, it's not me," Sanchez continued. "I do know her. She's a really nice girl. She's a sweetheart."
